Prenatal massage at J Massage SLC is gentle, side-lying work. You will not be asked to lie face down. Your therapist props you onto your side with bolsters and pillows, gets you settled, and works from there. The pressure stays moderate. Nothing about the hour is meant to be a test of what you can tolerate.
An hour is $105. Ninety minutes is $155. Two hours is $205. If you want a little more time than the length you booked, the prenatal extension adds thirty minutes for $50, and you can ask about it when you arrive instead of deciding in advance.
We are downtown at 677 S 200 W, Suite #C. The studio runs every day from 10am to 10pm, which makes a Tuesday morning and a Saturday evening both real options. Parking is free and it is at the building. That matters more than it sounds like it does at thirty-six weeks.
Here is our honest position on whether you should book at all. We are licensed massage therapists. We are not your medical providers, and we are not going to pretend otherwise by telling you what is right for your pregnancy. That conversation belongs to you and your doctor or midwife. Have it with them first. Whatever they tell you, pass it along when you book, and we will work inside it.
Every therapist on the floor holds an active Utah massage therapy license through the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing. We staff both men and women, so you can request whichever you would rather have working on you. A lot of people care about that during pregnancy and there is nothing awkward about saying so. Tell us on the phone and we will book it that way, or we will tell you plainly what is open.
Most people who call already know what is bothering them. It is usually the lower back, the hips, one shoulder, and both feet by the end of the day. That is generally where a session goes. You can redirect it at any point. If a position stops feeling good ten minutes in, say so and we will move you.
Call (801) 288-1118 to get on the schedule. Same-day appointments open up often, though the good evening times go first. If you need a particular length or a particular therapist, lead with that on the call and it takes about a minute to sort out.
The studio has been open since 2017. Our Google rating sits at 4.4 across 516 reviews, and we would rather show you that number than a rounded-up version of it. There is no membership to join and nothing to sign up for. Card payments carry a $5 processing fee. Cash does not.
If you have never had a massage while pregnant, the three things usually on your mind are the position, the draping, and how much you are expected to say out loud. The short answers are on your side, covered the entire time except the area being worked, and as much or as little as you feel like saying. The longer answers are on the rest of this site. Bring the rest of your questions with you. The front desk hears them every week and nobody here is going to make you feel silly for asking how the pillows work.
Guides
Why we will not tell you whether massage suits your pregnancy, what to ask the person who can, and what we do with their answer.
Both are on staff here. How to ask for the one you want, what happens if they are booked, and why nobody needs your reasoning.
Gift cards in any amount that never expire, and the right way to give one to someone who is pregnant without deciding for her.
If you booked deep tissue or Swedish before you were pregnant, here is what changes and what stays the same.
Practical things worth doing before a prenatal massage, and the one conversation to have before you book at all.
Free parking at the building, where the entrance is, and what to tell us if the walk from the car is the hard part.

"Not just the massage you want, but the massage your body needs. Tony's combination of pressure, stretching, and massage bordered on chiropractic physical therapy."

"After a day of skiing in Salt Lake City, I had a deep tissue massage and Tony's technique was fantastic. Very professional, accurately locating my sore muscles."
