Parking and Getting in the Door

Late in a pregnancy, the logistics around an appointment can be more tiring than the appointment. This page is about those logistics.

Parking is free and it belongs to the building. No meter, no app, no ticket machine, no garage attendant, no timer counting down while you are lying on a table. Downtown Salt Lake is not generous about parking and this is one of the few genuine advantages of our address. You pull in and you are done.

Our suite is #C at 677 S 200 W. It is not a large complex and the walk from a parked car to the front desk is short. Come in, say your name, and someone will take it from there.

If any part of that is harder for you than it sounds, say so when you book. Needing a moment, needing to sit down as soon as you are inside, needing someone to meet you at the door, needing to not be rushed through the check-in, all of that is easy to accommodate when we know it is coming and awkward to improvise when we do not. Nobody thinks it is a strange thing to ask about.

If someone is driving you, they are welcome to wait. There is somewhere to sit. Bring a phone charger and expect a quiet room rather than a lounge.

Arriving a few minutes early is better than arriving exactly on time, because it means the walk in, the check-in, and a trip to the bathroom all happen before the clock on your session starts. Ten minutes is enough of a buffer for a normal day.

If you are late, call from the road. The honest situation is that it depends on what is booked behind you. Sometimes the whole session survives, sometimes we can only give you the time remaining. Telling us at the moment you realize gives the front desk a chance to shuffle something. Telling us when you walk in does not.

The building sits on 200 West between 600 South and 700 South. Map apps find it reliably under the studio name. If you have been sent around a construction detour, the block is easy to circle back to, and a call to (801) 288-1118 gets you talked in.

Weather is worth a thought in winter. Icy pavement plus a shifted center of gravity is a combination worth taking slowly, and if the roads are bad enough that you would rather not drive, call and move the appointment. That is never a problem and there is no fee attached.

One more thing that makes the logistics easier, and it is a large part of why people book here instead of somewhere nearer to home. The studio runs from ten in the morning to ten at night, Sunday the same as Monday. You can pick an hour when somebody else is free to drive you, or when the block outside is quiet, rather than wedging the appointment into the busiest part of a working day.

Afterward, take a minute before you drive. Sit at the desk, drink some water, let the slowness pass. There is no hurry to clear the room and nobody is waiting on your parking spot.
